Enthephippion olivaceum (Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1891)

Fig. 25J, K; 28F

Distribution: Argentina: Misiones; Brazil; Brazil: Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul; Paraguay: Paraguarí.

New record for the Paraná State.

Comments: The position of the genus within the Phaneropterinae is still unclear (Cigliano et al. 2022). The species appears not to be broadly distributed within South American forests, considering its northernmost record (Minas Gerais State, Brazil).

Bioacoustics (Fig. 27): Males produce sequences of echemes, each one composed by four to seven echemes. Each echeme is composed by 25 to 35 syllables that are produced with increasing intensity.

Dominant frequency: 16 ± 2 kHz.

Bandwidth: 7 ± 1.7 kHz.

Duration: Syllable: 4 ± 0.8 ms; Echeme: 40 ± 6 ms.

Mute interval: Syllable: 12 ± 1 ms; Echeme: 1.9 ± 0.14 s.
