Steganacarus rapax (Berlese, 1916)

Hoploderma rapax Berlese, 1916b, p. 338.

S. rapax has some resemblance to S. magnus, but differs in several striking characters that are enumerated by Berlese; the claws are very long.

Two slides are present in the Collection (nos. 183/48, 49); probably they are the original preparations. The type-locality is East Africa.
