Sellnick (1931) published an excellent redescription of the species, founded on specimens from the Ionian Islands. This description exactly fits in with the specimens in the Berlese Collection, viz. the nos. 175/8 (Giardino di Boboli, Florence; designated as type), 212/47 (Garden of the "Stazione di Entomologia Agraria", Florence), and 220/46, 47 (Spalato, nowadays Split, Yugoslavia).
