STATUS. — Two subspecies are present: F. p. calidus Latham, 1790, Palaearctic migrant and F. p. minor Bonaparte, 1850, Resident; Breeding.

REMARK. — The recent records are only from the the Bängr-Weoogo Park of Ouagadugou. Reported as Breeding resident only in southeast of the country by Borrow & Demey (2014) with the subspecies F. p. minor Bonaparte, 1850 . The presence and status of this species in Burkina Faso need further assessment, particularly about the real occurrence of the various subspecies claimed in the literature: F. p. calidus Latham, 1790, F. p. peregrinus Tunstall, 1771 and F. p. pelegrinoides Temminck, 1829.
