FIELD DATA. — GBIF; WABD; XC.

STATUS. — Palaearctic migrant with different subspecies (see Remark).

REMARK. — A recent analysis of African wintering range of the Motacilla flava subspecies (Ferlini 2020) confirm the presence in Burkina Faso of M. f. flava Linnaeus, 1758, M. f. flavissima (Blyth, 1834) and M. f. cinereocapilla Savi, 1831. According to Borrow & Demey (2014), M. f. thunbergi Billberg, 1828 and M. f. iberiae Hartert, 1921 are also probably present. M. f. feldegg Michahelles, 1830, is known for a single record in Ouagadougu (Thonnerieux 1990), which requires confirmation.
