Ex Colinus virginianus (northern bobwhite): NC, Haywood Co., Big Creek, 25 May 1959, Unknown. Colinus virginianus is the type host for M. pricei (Price et al. 2003) and is infested with this louse in the southeastern USA (Doster et al. 1980).
