Type species: Ideobisium cavimanum Beier, 1930
Remarks. The genus can be identified by the presence of a ventral depression on the chelal hand of male specimens, from which protrudes a spine, parallel to the chelal axis. The genus consists of five species, known only from mainland South America (Argentina, Bolivia and Chile).
