Lectotype (Davidse in Cafferty & al. in Taxon 49: 251. 2000): Herb. Clifford: 468, Holcus 1 (BM-000647533) .

Current name: Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench ( Poaceae).

Note: Clayton (in Dassanayake & al., Revised Handb. Fl. Ceylon 8: 414. 1994), and Judziewicz (in Görts-van Rijn, Fl. Guianas, ser A, 8: 598. 1990) appear to have regarded Herb. Linn. No. 1212.6 (LINN) as the type, but it is a post-1753 specimen, and therefore not original material for the name.
