Current name: Lespedeza violacea (L.) Pers. ( Fabaceae: Faboideae).

Note: See extensive discussion by Reveal & Barrie (in Phytologia 71: 456-461. 1991) where they conclude that the lectotype belongs to what has been known as L. intermedia Britton, for which L. violacea becomes the correct name.
