Lectotype (Jonsell & Jarvis in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 54. 1993): Herb. Bergius, sheet bearing "4 umbellatum", lower specimen (SBT) .

Generitype of Holosteum Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 122. 1929).

Current name: Holosteum umbellatum L. ( Caryophyllaceae).

Note: Although Ghazanfar & Nasir (in Nasir & Ali, Fl. Pakistan 175: 33. 1986) indicated syntypes in SBT and UPS, they made no effective type choice. Jonsell & Jarvis (in Nordic J. Bot. 14: 157. 1994) provided further information on their own formal (1993) type choice.
