Lectotype (Chaudhri in Cafferty & Jarvis in Taxon 53: 1052. 2004): Löfling 186a, Herb. Linn. No. 312.4 (LINN) .

Current name: Herniaria fruticosa L. ( Caryophyllaceae).

Note: Chaudhri (in Meded. Bot. Mus. Herb. Rijks Univ. Utrecht 285: 386. 1968) stated "Type: Spain: Herb. Linnaeus 312/3-4 (LINN)". This did not distinguish between the two cited sheets, the material of which does not appear to be part of a single gathering (so Art. 9.15 does not apply). Chaudhri subsequently designated a Löfling collection as the lectotype.
