Lectotype (designated here by Gottschlich): — GERMANY. Thuringia: Bei Masserberg am Rennsteig, Turm, Porphyr, 800 m, 6–12 August 1924, J. Bornmüller (B barcode B 10 0453992!).— Current name: Hieracium lachenalii subsp. melanoporphyreum (Bornm. & Zahn) Zahn (1934: 591) .

Remarks: —Date of collection differs but the specimen bears the handwritten determination by Zahn, dated 1925.
