Cyllodania Simon, 1902: 363 (type species by original designation: Cyllodania bicruciata Simon, 1902); Galiano 1963b: 341 (redescription of type species); Galiano 1977a; Ruiz & Maddison 2015; Maddison 2015; World Spider Catalog 2017.

Diagnosis. Cyllodania resembles Thiodina, Hyetussa, Arachnomura, Atomosphyrus and Tartamura in having spine-like setae on the anterior surface of male paturon (Figs 8A‒ 8I; see also Galiano 1977a: fig. 11). The genus differs from Thiodina, Hyetussa, Arachnomura and Tartamura by having a keel on the male paturon (Figs 8B‒8C; see also Galiano 1977a: figs 11, 12). Cyllodania differs from Atomosphyrus for having a distal dilatation at the tip of the embolus (Figs 12D, 13D; see also Galiano 1977a: figs 21, 22).
