Remarks. The genus Zachaenus Cope, 1866 was synonymized with Cycloramphus Tschudi, 1838 by Dubois et al. (2021: 686). However, in proposing the synonymy, two valid species names were now secondary homonyms, viz., Cycloramphus carvalhoi (Izecksohn, 1983 “1982”) and Cycloramphus carvalhoi Heyer, 1983, as pointed out by Segalla et al. (2021: 124). Since Cycloramphus carvalhoi (Izecksohn, 1983 “1982”) has priority as the senior homonym, the species described by Heyer (1983) required a nomen novum and the replacement name Cycloramphus heyeri nom. nov. was proposed (Segalla et al., 2021: 124). The holotype and paratypes of Cycloramphus heyeri Segalla, Berneck, Canedo, Caramaschi, Cruz, Garcia, Grant, Haddad, Lourenço, Mângia, Mott, Nascimento, Toledo, Werneck & Langone, 2021 are the same designated by Heyer (1983: 297).
