Current name. Cycloramphus granulosus A. Lutz, 1929 — Bokermann 1951: 86.
Lectotype. AL-MN 1537 (Fig. 4), designated by Heyer (1983: 307), from “ Serra da Bocaina, Brasil.”
Measurements of the lectotype. SVL 24.2; HL 8.5; HW 10.2; IND 1.7; END 2.1; ED 2.1; UEW 1.7; IOD 2.0; THL 10.9; TL 10.6.
Type locality. Cochran (1955: 261) defined as “Bonito, Serra da Bocaina, boundary of Rio de Janeiro and S„o Paulo”. Bokermann(1966: 32) expanded for “Fazenda do Bonito, Serra da Bocaina, S„o José do Barreiro, S„o Paulo.”
The lectotype was obtained at the Fazenda do Bonito, Serra da Bocaina (22 o 45’S, 44 o 33’W; Datum WGS 84; 1,185 m a.s.l.), Municipality of S„o José do Barreiro, State of S„o Paulo, Brazil, collected at by A. Lutz, B. Lutz and J. Venâncio, in February 1928 .
Remarks. A. Lutz (1929) referred that “Em nosso material da Serra da Bocaina existem mais dous exemplares de 44 e 27 mm. de comprimento …” (in free translation, “In our material from the Serra da Bocaina exists more two specimens of 44 and 27 mm. in length …”). Cochran (1961: 40) referred to a “Cotype: [USNM] 96742, Bonito, Serra da Bocaina, boundary of S„o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, A. Lutz, February 1928.” Actually this specimen is the paralectotype of Cyclorhamphus granulosus A. Lutz, 1929 .
Barbour & Loveridge (1946: 98) referred to a “MCZ 25711. Cotype. Bonito, Serra da Bocaine, Sao Paulo, Brazil. (A. Lutz). Exch. U. S. Nat. Mus. 1944”. In fact, this specimen is not a type of C. granulosus (see Frost 2023; K. Tighe, comments in MCZ database).
Specimens AL-MN 2463–2465, collected at Ouro Preto, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil, were referred by Heyer (1983: 269) as paratypes of C. granulosus . However, these specimens, not referred in the original publication (A. Lutz, 1929), were collected after this publication (collected in 1933) and actually they are not types.
