COMMENT: Formerly included in Rattus; see comment under genus. Reviewed by Alcasid, 1969, Checklist of Philippine Mammals, Manila Nat. Mus ., Philippines, p. 33. Closely related to, and probably best considered, a subspecies of bagobus (LRH) .
