COMMENT: Formerly included in Maxomys; see Musser et al., 1979, J. Mammal., 60:592-605. Includes atchinensis, cameroni, and fraternus; formerly included lepturus; see Musser, 1981, Bull. Am. Mus . Nat. Hist., 168(3):237, who stated that the relationships between rapit, coxingi, bukit, and fulvescens need further study.
