DISTRIBUTION: Mountains of Assam (India), S. Burma, and Vietnam.

COMMENT: Formerly included in confucianus and cremoriventer; provisionally considered a distinct species by Musser, 1981, Bull. Am. Mus . Nat. Hist., 168(3):237, 253.
