Holotype male with labels: (1) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white label: “ III 4 Changgou Beishan / 76.8.9 / collector Ya ”; (2) handwritten on white label: “ Pegohylemyia / prenochirella / sp.n.”; (3) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red label: “ TYPE / Botanophila / prenochirella / (Zheng et Fan) ”.

Preservation: mounted on paper triangle; genitalia dissected and mounted at the tip of another paper triangle below.

Additional notes: Holotype collected at Menyuan, Qinghai Province.

Current name: Botanophila prenochirella (Zheng & Fan, 1992) .
