Holotype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white label: “ Cona County Lebu district / 1977.9”; (2) handwritten on white label: “ Pegohylemyia ”; (3) handwritten on white label: “ P. aculeifurca / n.”; (4) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red label: “ TYPE / Botanophila / aculeifurca / (Zhong) ”.

Preservation: pinned; genitalia dissected and mounted on paper triangle.
