Holotype male with labels: (1) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white label: “ WNI 2 / 76.7.30 / collector Ya ”; (2) handwritten on white label: “ Pegohylemyia / dolichocerca / sp.n.”; (3) handwritten on white label: “ Qinghai Menyuan / collector Ya Wu ”; (4) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red label: “ TYPE / Botanophila / dolichocerca / (Zheng et Fan) ”.

Preservation: specimen mouldy; mounted on paper triangle; genitalia dissected and mounted at the tip of another paper triangle.

Current name: Botanophila dolichocerca (Zheng & Fan, 1992) .
